Art entered my life at a moment when everything I believed to be secure suddenly changed. When my life seemed complete, it unexpectedly fell apart. Some decisions were made for me, and there was no way to avoid what followed.
In this period of transformation, art became my space of freedom.
A space without fixed rules.
A space guided by emotion, memory and experience.
A space in which thoughts and feelings can emerge without having to be explained.
My abstract paintings are created intuitively. Layers, structures, colours and movements develop through an open process. I rarely begin with a fixed image or a predetermined result. Instead, every artwork evolves through the interaction between control and coincidence, tension and calm, destruction and reconstruction.
Painting allows me to process experiences that cannot always be expressed through language. It gives visible form to something internal, while leaving enough space for viewers to discover their own emotions and associations.
Art without predefined meaning
My artworks do not have conventional titles. Each painting is identified only by a number.
A title can determine how an artwork is perceived before the viewer has had the opportunity to experience it personally. By using numbers instead of names, I deliberately avoid defining a fixed narrative.
The viewer is free to explore the work without instructions.
There is no correct interpretation.
No prescribed emotion.
No single story.
Each person brings their own memories, experiences and perspectives to the painting. In this way, every artwork can develop a different meaning for every viewer.
For the same reason, my signature is not visible on the front of the canvas. I do not want my name to interrupt the visual experience or distract from the artwork itself.
Every original artwork is signed on the reverse with my name, the date of creation and the words: For Mio.
Mio is my son, my love and one of the most important inspirations in my life.
I imagine every artwork beginning its own journey. It leaves my studio, finds the person or place to which it belongs and becomes part of new surroundings, conversations and experiences.
Symbolically, each painting carries these experiences forward to my son. My hope is that they contribute to an ever-growing perception of the beauty, complexity and diversity of the world.
This personal dedication connects all my works, even though every painting remains individual.
I primarily create abstract acrylic paintings on canvas, including large-format works. My paintings are characterised by layered surfaces, dynamic structures and the interaction of colour, movement and material.
The process is both intuitive and physical. Paint is applied, removed, covered and exposed again. New layers react with previous ones and create traces of the painting process.
These traces remain visible.
They represent change, experience and the idea that transformation does not erase what came before. Instead, every layer becomes part of the final work.
My art is not intended to provide answers. It creates space for perception, reflection and emotional resonance.
When I paint, I can lose myself completely.
And sometimes, in losing myself, I find something that was waiting to be discovered.
